A highly efficient piece of camping equipment which is suitable for Trekkers, Hikers, Kayakers, Backpackers, Bikers, and all outdoors enthusiasts who need to keep their pack light. Also suitable for Car Camping and a Wilderness Survival Kit or Disaster Kit. This lightweight kettle fits neatly into a Rucksack or Backpack.

As there is no need to carry fuel, these kettles will keep your pack light and save you money at the same time - never worry about running out of fuel again! Using any naturally occuring solid fuel (sticks, pine cones, dry camel dung! etc.) this kettle will operate perfectly well, even in strong winds / storm and will bring 2 Mugs of water to a rolling boil within a matter of minutes.

Add our 'Trekker' Cook Set and  Hobo Stove to turn the fire base of your kettle into a stand-alone Camping Stove. Please see our Accessories Category for these items. If more hot water is required (this kettle will easily boil water quickly for a party of 4-6 people), simply refill the kettle and place it back on the fire base and re-fuel the chimney again. The kettle will be boiled again within a matter of minutes where water can be used for more hot drinks, boil-in-the-bag, bathing, washing up, etc.

Since 01 October 2017 our Aluminium 'Trekker' Kettles are Anodised. Anodisation is primarily used to toughen up the outer shell of the Aluminum. The process creates an Aluminium Hydroxide layer on the surface of the metal which makes it harder and more resistant to scrathes and scrapes.

Fire Base & Drawstring carrying bag are included as standard with each kettle

My kettle just arrived, 5 days after ordening (shipment to Belgium) and I immediately tried it. It was quite windy, but there was no problem to light the fire in the firebase. Placing the kettle on top, it creates a chimney effect, in wich even the most unexperienced fire-maker can make a good fire really quick. 4 and a half minutes after starting the fire, I had a rolling cook with a ridiculous low amount of firewood used.
Probably because of the relative low temperature of the chimney-wall (not much above 100°C, I gues), the type of soot on the inside is very oily and has a strong odour. I'm not sure the included bag will keep this odour out of the rest of your backpack contents, so maybe put the kettle in an airtight bag to avoid having all your trekking clothes smelling like smoked on a wet campfire. Dear Kelly Kettle,
Well the Kelly Kettle arrived this morning here in Torrevieja and I tried it out with wood pellets (6 euro /15 kilo bag here) and I was amazed at how fast it brought the 2 cups of water to the boil.
Like everyone else, I'm economising in this recession and I got the Kelly kettle as back up for when the gas goes and to occasionally boil a cup of water for tea. I'm using it on the balcony and no problem.

Rating the Kelly kettle on the scale of ten I would give it 10 out of 10.
I would recommend it fully.

Will boil faster than anything elseReview by Brian - U.S. Military

I have used the Kelly Kettles for years, and especially like using them on deployment with the military. The trekker model works great for myself, and will boil faster than anything else. When it was time for tea, the Iraqi's attached with us would always invite me to fire up the kettle. I use the aluminum and the stainless steel kettles and love them both. Thanks for making such a wonderful product!

My aluminum kit attached for your interest.

Make room in your ruck for this one.Review by Alexander the Jinxmedic

I have both the large Base Camp kettle in stainless steel, and the Trekker in aluminum. While the Base Camp is great for automobile camping, it's a bit too large for my pack - and this is where the Trekker model comes in.

The aluminum Trekker kettle fits in my 3-day pack without a problem, and is light enough not to worry about. (Some of the bulkiness of the kettle is mitigated by storing items inside the chimney.) Each boil typically takes me about four minutes using scrap paper and twigs as fuel, and provides enough boiling water to reconstitute a single Mountain House freeze dried meal. (While waiting for the meal to reconstitute, I can have a second boil completed for a mug of tea or coffee, with enough hot water left over for cleaning up.) The ability of using "found" fuel helps lighten my pack, and eliminates gas wastage from a conventional backpacking stove.

In closing, I also find this to be a great bit of kit that I can highly recommend- it's well worth making room in your pack for it. If you're on the fence about the aluminum model- I have find no faults with it whatsoever. (Just don't bang it around on rocks or run it dry...) (Posted on 16/02/2015)
Great piece of kit. Has some limitations thoughReview by Bernard

This was bought for me a while back and I have to say, I love the Kelly kettle! Especially with the Cook kit I bought it's a everything you need in one piece of kit.

However I have experienced one or two issues with the Alu trekker.
Firstly for me it's a little small, I tend to have one or 2 people with me on trips and it can become a slow process making tea/coffee,so next time out I'll buy the scout or basecamp.

If you're all about lightweight gear. This is the kettle for you. Barely feel it in my pack! However be warned, Aluminium tends to dent easily, I know from experience, one fall from my hands side on onto a rock when it was still a little warm and it's quite badly dented. And there's another limitation. The Aluminium won't last as long and doesn't react well to prolonged heating, my fire base has warped slightly because I left the fire lit for a while after I finished cooking one evening.

So to summarise.

If you want a kettle that's perfect for solo hikers and solo overnighters that's light and versatile this is for you. But compared to stainless steel, you will need to more careful and be prepared to compromise longevity for weight. (Posted on 26/07/2014)
