Details

This is an extremely efficient Camping Kit which is suitable for Scouts, Fun Family Picnics, Fishing & Hunting, Car Camping, Power Cuts, Kayakers.  Add it to your wilderness / Disaster / Earthquake or Survival kit.   Superb camping gear or for anyone who works in or simply enjoys the outdoors.

A popular Green Whistle has replaced the Orange stopper on this Kettle and will let you know when the water has boiled.

This 'Basic Kit' includes the following items:

  • 1.2ltr Stainless Steel 'Base Camp' Kettle & fire base. (New model kettle, no rivets & laser welded)
  • Cook set      - which includes: 0.85ltr Pot / Frying Pan (pot lid) / 2 Piece Grill / Gripper Handle
  • Pot/Base Support - New model - two pieces which flat pack for easy packing.
  • Fire-Base and Drawstring carrying bag

As there is no need to carry fuel, this kit will keep your pack light and save you money at the same time - never worry about running out of fuel again!   All fit neatly within the kettle itself for transport or storage.

Cost FREE to run! Simply gather deadwood, twigs, dry grass, pine cones or whatever natural fuel you find lying around in the area and you can bring 6 cups of water to the boil within a matter of minutes while at the same time (and using the same fuel) cook small amounts of food over the chimney (using the pot on the support) as the kettle boils. Hence, a very small amount of fuel will both boil your water for hot drinks, washing up, personal hygiene, etc. and cook your meal at the same time! This kit works in ALL weather conditions.

For more details on how best to use the Pot-Support and Cook set, please go to our Frequently asked Questions page. If more than 1.2ltrs of boiling water is required (this kettle will easily and quickly boil water for a medium sized group within a matter of minutes) simply refill the kettle with water and place it back on the firebase. Refuel the chimney again and your kettle will boil again within approx. 3-5 minutes.

The durable steel fire base inverts up into the bottom of our kettles to make the unit as compact as possible for transport and storage.

Please note: The Kettle has been designed to boil water extremely fast in all weather conditions using very little fuel. When filled with water, the Kelly Kettle should always be carried upright to avoid any spillage/leakage from the water spout or chimney top.

A popular Green Whistle has replaced the Orange stopper on this Kettle and will let you know when the water has boiled. Older Kettles may have an Orange Rubber or Cork Stopper. These MUST ALWAYS be removed before using the kettle. The Kettle must never be boiled with these older stoppers in the spout.

Best thing I’ve ever brought to have when fishing

Wow I’m sure that this has already been said a million times before, But where has this been all my life. I got it this morning and I’ve tried it out in the back garden and it boils a litre of water faster than my electric kettle indoors. I’m going to cook some sausages on it tonight with another cup of tea. I can’t wait to get out into the wild With it.
Don’t think about it for one more second, just go and buy it you will love it.

All in all, a fantastic bit of kit

Comment: I work as a Traffic Management Operative. In plain English this means I am one of those annoying people in in snazzy yellow and orange clothing who close roads and set out annoyingly long diversions so as to, deliberately, ruin your daily commute to work and back home.
In the course of my work I enjoy the occasional cup of tea ( every hour or so ) with an egg and bacon sandwich. Up until recently I had been using a small gas powered burner to provide the heat required to, firstly, boil water for the tea and then to cook the eggs and bacon. This in itself could take up to an hour even if I didn't run out of gas! The gas always runs out when the nearest shop is an hour or more away!!
Then, as I was surfing the wonder that is You Tube I came across a posting showing a device called the Kelly Kettle. "Wow! This looks good!" I thought and viewed a few more videos then ordered the Kelly Kettle Scout to be delivered to the company office in Chippenham.
The Kettle duly arrived in good time and was put to use that very day. Numerous times! This is a great bit of kit, The kettle runs on FREE fuel that NEVER runs out during a boiling or cooking session and is one hell of a lot quicker than the old gas cartridges.
My only regret to do with the purchase of my Kelly Kettle is that it took me so long to find it. I have the stainless steel version (with the new whistling stopper so that I no longer need to constantly check to see if the water is hot enough) so this should last for the rest of my time on Earth and well in to the Grandkids times.
All in all, a fantastic bit of kit. Thank you Mr Kelly!

Floated by canoe over 600 miles through Cambodia!

On my last expedition a friend and I paddled a canoe 600 miles down the Srepok and Mekong rivers through Cambodia and Vietnam. Along the way we stopped in several villages to teach CPR and abdominal thrusts for choking emergencies.
We needed a stove which could boil lots of water efficiently without burning up several bottles of hard to find liquid fuel over the weeks we paddled down the river. Kelly Kettle offered the perfect solution, an efficient burning wood stove which is excellent at boiling quantities of water as well as for cooking on. We even used our Medium Stainless Kettle with a Power Pot to keep an iPad and speaker charged for teaching classes and since the Kelly Kettle burns wood, we essentially had an unlimited supply of electricity.
We burned lots of fuel types like bamboo, leaves, bushes, drift wood, bark, and more. We almost always had a good fuel source to burn but for the few cases when we camped on a sandy island with no wood, we used an alcohol burner as a backup which works well to boil water in the kettle or cook on using only the fire base.
I couldn't be happier with my Kelly Kettle and will be bringing it on future expeditions.

stainless steel scout full kit

Hello to all at Kelly kettle,
Just used my scout kettle for the first time. Unbelievably fast, boiled up in 3 mins. Brewed the tea, re boiled the kettle, put the pot holder and pot on, did boil in bag rice, stoked the fire and put frying pan on the base. Sweet & Sour Chicken for 3 in 15 min with just a few twigs and a bit of dead bark. The heat it produces is amazing, no more carrying gas canisters, it is so simple and efficient.
To all campers and outdoor people, buy a Kelly kettle kit the workmanship is 1st class, you won't regret it.
All the best,

Hi there all at the Kelly kettle co.
Our kettle arrived on time on the due date.
We lit it and boiled water to wash it out as requested on the instructions.
We went for a walk in the Mendip hills and enjoyed a hot tea. using dead hazel sticked collected on the way. Its brilliant. And surprisingly quick.
Using an old boy scout trick of lining the inside with soap it cleaned up after we got back no problems. (just wash your hands with normal soap and wipe the lather all over the inside surfaces.)

Many thanks.
